Quest RV Resort on the Kenai River, Sheffrey's
Guide Service caters to anglers who want to
catch world-class trophy King Salmon. The
Kenai River is world renowned for its Kings and
currently holds the world class record at 97lbs, 4
oz. Each year anglers from all over the world
converge on the Kenai for the opportunity to catch
their limit of these mighty
fish King Salmon come
into the Kenai River in two overlapping runs.
The first run of Kings begins the last two weeks of
May, and continues through the end of June.
While an average first run King weighs in at 35
lbs, the fishing is less crowded and can be very
productive, with some 50-60 pounders being
caught. The second run of
Kings is what the trophy hunters are after.
This run takes place through out the month of
July. Average weight of these Goliath's is 45
lbs. This is when the majority of the true
Alaskan monsters are caught, some registering
nearly 90 lbs. >>
